MAT 211 - Math Concepts


Credits: 3

This is a liberal arts mathematics course, intended for students not majoring in science or mathematics. Topics will include ancient and modern numeration systems, the metric system of measurement, and the geometry of two- and three-dimensional figures. Up to four additional topics will be chosen from the following: elementary number theory, problem solving, sets, logic, counting problems, probability, statistics, and graph theory.
Prerequisite: A math ACT score of 17, an equivalent sub-score on an appropriate placement test, or completion of a developmental mathematics course (MAT 100  or transfer) with a grade of “C-” or better
