BIO 300 - Row Crop Agronomy and Modern Agriculture


Credits: 4

This course will cover the major row crops (corn, soybeans, wheat, and cotton). We will explore each of these production systems and learn their nuances and specialties. Additionally, we will cover traditional and modern innovations within agriculture and how these can impact our current challenges and labor demands. The laboratory portion of the course will provide hands on learning with an emphasis on farm-based learning and crop production. This will enhance student’s decision-making skills, technical and mechanical skills, and apply concepts in class to a real-world scenario. This course includes three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory each week.
Prerequisite: BIO 115   and BIO 116  
Corequisite: BIO 300L
