NUR 343 - Fundamentals of Nursing


Credits: 6

A foundation for clinical nursing practice, this course focuses on the elderly, communication, safety, hygiene, mobility, and comfort. The inflammatory response and alterations in the sensory and integumentary systems are covered in this course. The basic components of the nursing process are presented as a framework for beginning clinical practice. This course includes field experiences in the community and in geriatric facilities for beginning conceptualization of the role of the nurse as leader, advocate, and direct caregiver in impacting national health goals in caring for adult patients across the lifespan.
