MUS 101 - Music Theory I Credits: 3
This course is a general survey of theory of the Common Practice period. Special emphasis is placed on tonal harmony, from the use of the triad to the dominant seventh chord. Part writing, ear training, and written exercises are included. Prerequisite: MUS 199 or a passing grade on the music theory placement test Corequisite: MUS 104 and MUA 161 Offered: Fall
